摘要
澳洲俚语虽然产生于英式英语，但因其成长土壤的不同，又与英式英语中的俚语有着许多不同之处。对澳大利亚人来说，澳州俚语是他们随和洒脱、幽默机智的民族性格的最好写照。本文试从澳洲俚语中的委婉语、比喻和夸张三个方面对澳式幽默与澳洲俚语的关系作一探讨。
Although born of British English,Australian slang is different from British slang in many respects due to the different soils on which they grow.For Australians,Australian slang is a mirror to their national character:easy\|going,quick\|witted and humorous.Based on the analysis of the language features of Australian slang,this paper attempts to show the relationship between Australian humour and Australian slang.
