摘要
重视思想变革甚于政治变革的杜威,将自由智慧作为解决社会诸问题的关键,并以此代替暴力革命的社会变革方式。自由智慧指代的是科学精神与科学方法,包含了科学的实验方法、合作研究方式及反省思维。而教育因其为影响人之思想、性情与态度的重要力量,被视为最为敏感与最为持续地反映智慧的领域之一。在教育中,杜威致力于培养儿童的合作态度、质疑与探究的科学精神。杜威的自由智慧哲学亦深刻影响了中国近现代的教育理论与实践。
By emphasizing the reform of ideas rather than politics, ?ohn Dewey takes the freed
intelligence as the key for solving social problems and the way of social reform. as well as the
replacer of the violent revolution. Freed intelligence refers to scientific spirit and method. It in-
cludes the experimental methods of science, the way of cooperative research and the reflective
thinking. Education, as the important factor of influencing man's ideas, temper and attitude, is
looked as one of the fields that is most sensitively and continuously reflect the intelligence. In
education, Dewey applied himself to bring up children's cooperative attitude, scientific spirit of
questioning and exploring. Dewey's philosophy of freed intelligence also deeply affects the edu-
cational theory and practice of modern and today's China.
