摘要
在学习英语词汇时了解它的发展过程,可以对英语词汇的全貌有更为清晰的了解,解决很多令人困惑的问题。文章从古英语时期(又称盎格鲁撒克逊时期the Anglo-Saxon Period)、中古时期、现代英语三个时期论述了英语词汇的来源,以此谈英语词汇的发展。
A necessary understanding of vocabulary development can give us a clearer picture about the whole thing while learning it,thus we can find the answers to most confusing questions. The subjects of this essay range from the Anglo-Saxon period, Middle Age to Mordem English. It concentrates on the development of English vocabulary based on the research of its origin.
