摘要
以语言学家拉科夫的模糊限制语理论和格莱斯的会话含义理论为理据,以国外几位政治首脑的话语为语料,分析和解释政治语篇中的模糊限制语的语用功能:缓和说话人对某一命题真值条件的主观判断或者尽量避免遭致受话人的反感或反对。作为笔译或口译工作者,应该辨别和领悟这些政治语篇中的模糊限制语的语用功能,采用相应的翻译策略以达到翻译中的功能对等。
In political texts , mainly speeches by politicians, a typical feature is the frequent use of hedges, as devices which increase or decrease fuzziness in order to lessen a politician's commitment to the truth of a proposition or to mitigate possible negative effects on an audience. As a translator or interpreter , he she should be able to identify and understand the pragmatic functions of hedges for the purpose of the realization of dynamic equivalence in translating hedges in the political texts.
