It is instructive to read the literary figure Chen Huansheng in Gao Xiaosheng' s novel.Spiritual poverty proves to be far more terrible through the contrasts between Chen Huansheng and other literary figures, such as Song Laoda.Gui Tu and A Q.It is still a long way to go before they get emancipation from the spiritual poverty.
