摘要
在使英语成为世界性语言的诸多因素当中,英国文化扮演着重要的角色。在英国文化众多的亮点中,自然有许多东西值得我们学习和领悟。由于现代体育竞技项目大多起源于英国,在这个过程中,公平竞争意识(体育精神)无疑起了关键的作用。作者分析了体育精神的起源、发展和特征。指出,理解公平竞争意识至少可以使我们在以下几个方面有所收获:1)加深对英国文化的了解,增强英语学习的兴趣;2)有助于学生实用能力的培养;3)使我们真正认识奥运会的特殊内涵和意义。
Among the factors that have made English become an international language, the British culture seems toplay an important role. There are many highlights in British culture, and the EFL students usually understand Britishculture mainly through English literature, the British customs, and the British fashion styles. Since most modern sportgames originated from GB, sportsmanship is undoubtedly one of the most typical characteristics of British culture.This paper tries to analyze the evolution of sportsmanship as well as it s features, and to point out that understandingsportsmanship well can let us take advantages as follows: 1) To strengthen insights of British culture and cultivate theinterest of learning English, 2) To promote the development of talents, 3) To realize the real meaning of the OlympicGames.
