摘要
人民币初步具备了区域性货币的条件，但由于其现有国际货币地位低下、影响力不足，人民币在相当长的时间内将处于国际货币竞争格局的弱势地位，要使人民币成为亚洲主要储备性货币，我国必须首先加强自身的轻济实力，这是一国货币国际化的基础；其次，必须考虑和亚洲尤其是东亚形成更紧密经贸关系，在东亚金融合作中，我国应该发挥主导作用；最后，必须完善我国的资本市场和金融市场结构，形成由市场决定的汇率及利率机制。
Based on the current circulation of RMB in foreign countries, the paper attempts to apply the IMF theory on currency internationalization to ana- lyze the feasibilities and shortcomings of being a reserve current in Asia, drawing a conclusion that it is possible for RMB to act as reserve currency, though there is still a long way to go. At last, the author puts forward some suggestions for it.
