摘要
Objectives To explore the ho-mocysteine's risk to atherosclerosis and its correla-tions with serum lipids TC,TG and HDL-C. MethodsWith a cross sectional study, 490 subjects (aged 41-86 yrs, male 420 and female 70) were surveyed in1999 in Guangdong Province, China. The main re-search variables were homocysteine (Hcy) and theserum lipids total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride(TG),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C). ResultsHcy was a possible risk factor resulring in atheroscle-rosis (OR=1.15, 0.05<P<0.10, n=108) with Logisticregression analysis. There is no correlation or muchlower degree correlation between Hcy and the serumlipids group of TC, TG, HDL-C. The canonical corre-lation coefficient between V_1 and W_1 was R_(1,Can) =0.12(0.05<P<0.10, n=490, V_1=Hcy, W_1= - 0.9446 * TC +0.1588 * TG + 0.6009 * HDL-C). Conclusions It ispossible that Hcy is a risk factor to atherosclerosisand is independent of serum lipids group or has muchlower correlation with it. It is necessary to do more re-search to explore the risk degree of Hcy inducingatherosclerosis and whether are there are bigger cor-relations or higher independence between Hcy andother risk factors during the progress of atherosclero-sis.
