摘要
委婉语是一种普遍存在又十分复杂的语言现象。文章介绍了委婉语的定义 ;归纳了委婉语的基本特征 ;分析了英汉委婉语的交际功能 ;并通过英汉委婉语的对比分析 。
The article makes an introduction of euphemism, a pervasive and sophisticated phenomenon in language using, draws a conclusion of its basic characteristics, and conducts an analysis of its communicative function in English and Chinese languages. With euphemism in both languages compared and analyzed,its specialty in given languages comes to be revealed.
