摘要
日本神道于日治时期在台湾的传播,带有浓厚的双面性格--一方面似乎具有日本传统信仰的"宗教"性格,另一方面又呈现出代表国家仪典的强势"道德"风格。如此双重性格,加上日本治台所谓"同化"政策的虚幻性,以及统治者、被统治者双方对"宗教"观点的差异性,造成日本神道在台湾、特别是被统治阶层间的传播,呈现出无法生根落实的面貌。 本论文除陈述具有"国教"地位的日本神道教,在日本治台50年间传播的轨迹,并藉此解析日本神道教无法在台湾社会"土著化"的原因。
The spread of Shinto in Taiwan under the Japanese occupation shows its dual character: a traditional Japanese religion and an intensified 'morality' representing Japan's national ritual. Owing to such character, together with the occupation authorities' unreal policy of 'assimiliation' and the discrepancy between the ruling and the ruled strata in their attitudes toward 'religion', Shinto was spread among the ruled stratum in Taiwan, but it could never be rooted. The article enunciates the fifty- year spread of Shinto which is Japan's 'state religion', and analyzes the reason that Shinto could never be localized in Taiwan.
