摘要
本文提出语境化是外语教学中帮助学生更好地理解语篇的策略之一.阅读教学中教师经常发现,学生理解了句子中所有的词却不明白句子的意思.学生理解的困难源于他们不了解由话语的语境所决定的话语含义.在这种情况下,教师为学生提供熟悉的相关社会文化语境和情景语境可以帮助他们理解话语.
This article presents a tentative strategy in facilitating students' text understanding for ELT teachers in the teaching of reading:contextulization.More often than not the teacher is confronted with a difficult situation where students fail to understand a sentence that contains no new words at all.Their difficulty in comprehension supposedly lies in their inability to understand the utterance\|meaning determined by the context where the utterance occurs.Under such circumstances the teacher may find it helpful to put the troublesome sentence in a relevant context of culture and of situation familiar to students.
