摘要
本文就现代英语中使用的复杂名词定语 (complex attributive noun)和复数名词定语 (pluralattributive noun)基于 L OB,SEC和 AP语料库的语言素材进行探讨 ;从句法和语义的角度 ,分析了复杂名词定语的词序和复杂名词定语与中心词之间的修饰关系 ,阐释了使用复数名词定语的诸种原因。
This paper is a descriptive study of complex attributive nouns and plural attributive nouns used in present day English language upon the basis of data adopted from the LOB, SEC and AP corpora. This paper attempts to analyse the relative orders of complex attributive nouns and their structure of constituents in relation to their heads and explain the reasons for using plural attributive nouns through their syntactic and semantic features.
