摘要
《新编英语口语教程》力图突破现有英语口语教材模式，体现系统性，强调要向英语专业学生提供有一定难度、富有挑战性的训练，以有效提高其口语表达能力和思辨能力。本文介绍了《新编英语口语教程》的编写思路及特点，并讨论了课堂教学过程中与之相关的活动教学法。
A New Oral English Course attempts to be different from the traditional English oral textbooks currently available in China. With a view of improving students communicative performance and intellectual development, the Textbook offers a systematic training to English majors with emphasis on challenging activities such as public speaking and debate. This paper provides a comprehensive introduction to the Textbook and discusses the activity based approach to the teaching of oral English in the context of Chinese universities.
