摘要
吴永,浙江湖州人,庚子事变(八国联军侵华)时,任怀来知县,慈禧携两宫西逃至怀来,吴永成为迎驾慈禧一行的第一位地方官,成为庚子慈禧西逃的见证人,后又成为随扈西行的亲历者。三十年后,在浙江兰溪人刘治襄再三恳求下,吴永将见证的往事口述成一书一《庚子西狩丛谈》,该书被马克思主义历史学家翦伯赞评价为纪述“西逃”诸书中最佳之著作,可见史学价值之高。
Wu Yung, horn in Huzhou, was the officer of Huailai county during Gengzi Incidence. When the empress dowager of Cixi escaped tc Huailai with royal members, Wu Yong is the first local officer to welcome them and he became the witness of this event. Later, he himself followed the team westward. 30 years later, sincerely asked by Liu Zhixiang, a Lanxiness, Wu Yong old the whole story, which is written in On the Westward Hunting in Dengzi Time. This book is considered by Marxist historian Jian Bozan as the best work about this event of 'westward escape' , which has proved the historic value of the book.
