The production process for producing dimethyl ether by using the coal or natural gas as well as productive application were introduced, the main purpose of dimethyl ether and the demand of fuel in Chinese market were discussed; the importance was summarized for adjusting the power energy structure in China to replace diesel oil with clean dimethyl ether fuel.
