A series of1D-and2D-NMR pulse field gradient phase_cycling techniques,including gCOSY,gNOESY,gHSQC and gHMBC,were applied to the study of the structure of the chiral anti_inˉflammatory drug budesonide-R[(22R)_16α,17α_Butylidenebis(oxy)_11β,21_dihydroxy_pregna_1,4_diene_3,20_dione]and to the assignment of all its proton and carbon signals.The 1 H NMR technique is proposed for quality control of the ratio of budesonide-R to budesonide-S in budesonide products.
