摘要
较早记载袁江姓名和简单情况的史籍有张庚的《国朝画徵录》（包括续录)、李斗的的《扬州画舫录》以及无名氏的《画人补遗》。以上几种史籍均成书于清朝中期，约在雍正后期至乾隆年间，其年代与画家生活的时期相距不远。下面分别抄录相关原始资料：“袁江，字文涛，江都人，善山水、楼阁，中年得无名氏所临古人画稿，遂大进，宪庙召祗候。”(张庚《国朝画徵录》)
Yuan Jiang was a professional painter in the Yangzhou area active during the Kangxi and Qianlong periods of the Qing Dynasty. He was noted for drawing large pieces of pictures. Most of his works left are of large pieces. The articles introduced one of the small size picture books 'Landscape, Towers and Pavilions'. The book is of silk make, totaling 12 pages, mostly landscape paintings created by imitating famous ancient methods.
