Senior Researcher of the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations and Guest Researcher of CPDS. Since April 2003, pushed forward actively by international community and respective strategic considerations, both India and Pakistan have made active gestures to have intention of improving bilateral relations. After intense and dangerous confrontations, the two countries have been back to go into a normal orbit for improving their relations. But the Kashmir issue and whether to effectively control extremist violences by the two sides will still restrain the improvement of bilateral relations.
