摘要
汤沈之争是戏曲批评史上关于戏曲的文与律之关系最激烈的一次论争,汤显祖与沈璟围绕剧本内容与戏曲的音韵格律孰轻孰重的问题展开了论争,二者的理论主张互不相容。王骥德则将两家的主张辩证地统一了起来,纠正了他们的偏颇,提出了剧本内容与戏曲格律兼顾,即“必法与词两擅其极”的创作主张与辞、格俱妙的衡曲标准。
The dispute between TANG Xian-zu and SHEN Jing was one of the fiercest in the history of China drama focusing on the relationship between prose and versification. TANG and SHEN had endless arguments about the content, phonology and poetic meter of Chinese drama and neither gave in to the other. WANG Ji-de, on the other hand, proposed that their views should be united together and, by correcting their biases, said that the content and poetic meter of drama could be taken into account simultaneously.
