Love is an eternal theme of literature. The Ordinary World by Lu Yao describes the love story of ordinary people. By describing several different types of love between male and female in the period of social transition, the novel displays the rich emotional life of the young people living in the suburbs. The novel reveals the author’s views of love, marriage and life which reflect the progress of society.
