The traditional translation theory emphasizes the equivalence between the source text and the target text, neglecting the participation of the translator and the target text readers. The Reception points out that the translator,as the reader of the source text, produces different versions of the same text due to their different horizons of expectation. The paper discusses the possible reasons of why there exist various versions of the same poem from the perspective of Reception.
