摘要
在小说《牛虻》中,牛虻在少年时期受到各种因素的影响,在流亡中又经历了如地狱般的磨难,这些都使得最后成为革命者的他具有了小丑的影子。从某种意义上说牛虻是"小丑式的牛虻",牛虻身上的小丑是"牛虻式的小丑"。小丑形象丰富了牛虻的性格特点,同时也在牛虻身上得到了崇高的升华。
In the novel of The Gadfly,the hero,influenced by a variety of factors in his boyhood and experiencing a hellish tribulations in the self-willed exile grows up as a revolutionary with a image of clown.In a certain sense,the hero Gadfly is a clown while the clown image in Gadfly is a hero.The clown image enriches the characters of hero and meanwhile the hero dignifies the clown image.
