摘要 This paper presents an analytical study of the thermal residual stresses due to curing incomposites containing twisted fiber bundles. The fibers in a bundle assume the helical form. The 3-dimensional elasticity problem is formulated and solved based upon the principle ofminimum potential energy. The resulting thermal stress field is examined as functions offiber/matrix material properties and fiber bundle geometry. Significant radial stresses onthe fiber and circumferential stresses in the matrix have been identified at the fiber bundle/matrix interface. The analytical result also reveals that twisting of the fiber bundle tendsto reduce the residual stresses due to the fiber matrix differential thermal expansion.
