摘要
本文对我国所产的云南竹叶青蛇、察隅烙铁头蛇、高原蝮雪山亚种和九龙颈槽蛇进行了分类的讨论。
Taxonomic status of some snake species and subspecies found in China is discussed.Trimeresurus stejnegeri Schmidt, 1925 ranges over southern part of China and northward along eastern coast to Mt. Changbai, Jinn Province (about 41°N). Its dorsal scale rows at mid-body is a very stable trait as 21 in almost all (but one with 23) individuals (n= 181') found in its huge ranging area. KP Schmidt (1925) described in the same paper anothor resemblance species but with 19 dorsal scale rows found in Yunnan Province as Trimeresurus yunnanensis, which was considered as a subspecies of T. stejnegeri by CH Pope(1935). In consideration of the count of scale rows at mid -body is a stable trait in most snake species, in addition, the distribution of populations with 21 and 19 scale rows is mosaic or sympatric in Yunnan and southwestern Sichuan. The populations with 19 scale rows are revalided as full species, Tri,neresurus yunnanensis Schmidt, 1925. Ancistrodon blomhoffii monticola Werner, 1922 was raised as full species, Agkistrodon monticola by CH Pope (1935). The latter is morphologically similar to Agkistrodon strauchii Bedriaga 1912. The only difference between the two is that monticola has 19 scale rows at mid- body, but 21 in strauchii. By counting a lot of strauchii specimens (n= 66), a certian number (19. 7% ) with 19 scale rows at mid-body, too. Besides,the distribution of the two species are continous .Therefore, monticola is considered conspecific with strauchii The former may be considered as a subspecies due to its lower ventral subcaudal plus scale counts, unique 19 scale rows at mid - body,and allopatric distribution. The generic name is changed to Golydius Hoge and Romano - Hoge, 1983. Ovophis monticola zayuensis Jiang, 1977 (originally Trimeresurusmonticola zayuensis) is much different from other known subspecies of Ovophis monticola, and Rhabdophis nuchalis pentasupralabialis Jiang and Zhao, 1983 is much different from the nominate subspecies .
