Tribological Behaviour of GCr15 Steel to Si_3N_4 Ceramic Lubricated by Biphase Liguid Lubricants

The effects of several kinds of biphase liguid lubricants on the tribological behaviour of GCrls Steel to Si3N4 ceramic material are investigated by using the reciprocating tester. Twenty kinds of biphase liguid lubricants are used in experiments,they are different mixtures formed from two kinds of base oils and five kinds of solid additive grains. The tests are carried out at temperatures of 16℃ and 100 ℃ respectively.The results show that the biphase liquid lubricants, mixture of base oil with different solid grains at different ratio, cause different tribological and wear behaviours under different experimental conditions. Generally speaking, the tribological behaviour of biphase liquid lubricant with harder solid grains is better than that with softer solid ones.
