摘要
赫胥黎作为一名科学家对科学教育有独到的见解,他提倡“新”自由教育观念,认为科学教育与自由教育并不是对立的关系;提出科学教育重心的转移,认为科学方法比科学知识更重要;在科学教育的价值取向上,超越单纯的功利性价值观,重视科学教育的精神价值。
As a scientist, Huxley had his own ideas about science education. He advocated the concept of 'new' liberal education, believing science education was not antagonistic with liberal education. He suggested shift of focus in science education, holding scientific method was more important than knowledge of science. As regards orientation of science education, he put spiritual values above exclusive utilitarianism.
