Research into the US Sportswear Market

摘要 根据美国棉花公司零售调查^(TM)(Retail Monitor^(TM))2009年第一季度的调查数据显示,运动服饰已成为日益重要的商品,占2009年美国服饰第一季度零售总供应量的13%。根据Just-Style的统计数字,从2003年至2008年,美国运动服饰市场约增长了8.5%,消费总量从130亿美元上升至141亿美元,并预计到2014年,还将增长8.5%至153亿美元。 According to the surveying data of the 3rd quarter of 2009 of Cotton Incorporated's^(TM)(Retail Monitor^(TM), sportswear has become one of the increasingly important commodities,accounting for 13%of the total retail supply of U.S.garments in the 3rd quarter.Statistics from Just-Style showed that from 2003 to 2008,the U.S. sportswear market grew at 8.5%with the aggregate of consumption increasing from US$13 billion to US$14.1. It also estimated that by 2014,this figure would have increased by 8.5%or to US$15.3 billion.In addition, there is an extensive consumer targets of sportswear. According to the surveying data on life style by Cotton Incorporated's^(TM)(Retail Monitor^(TM),over two thirds of U.S.consumers do physical exercises at least once a week,and they have a liking for the multifunction of sportswear as they wear it on non-sports occasions as well.Furthermore,they are willing to pay a higher price for the functionality of sportswear.The survey also showed that sportswear is unlikely to be sold at discounted prices than non-sportswear.
