摘要
近代中外不平等条约废除了,但其中中美条约中所体现的一些美国理念不仅没有被废除,而且在美国的推进下,已成为今天中国人经济和政治生活中重要的政策和内容,如自由贸易、知识产权保护、教育交流、宗教信仰自由、航海自由及主权等。这充分地反映出美国的强大不单体现在GDP的数字和军事力量上,更重要的是体现在它所推行的理念上。美国通过吸收和创新所提出的这些理念影响和支配了世界,奠定了其至今不可动摇的霸权基础。
All the unequal treaties between China and foreign powers were abolished many years ago,but American ideas shown in its treaties with China still have their impacts:free trade,protection of intellectual property,educational exchanges,freedom of religious belief,free navigation and sovereignty. This fully reflects that the America's power is not only embodied in its GDP and military strength,but more importantly,in the concepts it has been promoting. By absorbing other country's ideas and innovating those put forward by itself,America has successfully influenced and dominated the world,and established its hegemony that is still unshakable today.
