摘要
Objective To study the effect of epidermal growth factor (EGF) on the morphology and absorption of small bowel graft. Methods Total small bowel transplantion were performed between inbred Wistar (RTlk) rats. Total parenteral nutrition (TPN group, n = 10) and EGF supplemented TPN (EGF group, n = 10) was used from POD2 to POD10. Results Mucosal villous height, crypt depth, mucosal thickness and villous surface area were found significantly larger in EGF group than in TPN group. Normal ultrastructure of the graft was maintained in EGF group, Atrophied microvilli and broken mitochondrial crista were observed in TPN group. Plasma 15 N - Glycine level was higher in EGF group than in TPN group. Conclusion EGF improves mucosal morphology, preserves enterocyte ultrastructure, enhances amino acid absorption. 7 refs,4 figs.1 tab.China Medical Abstracts(Surgery)
