Objective To explore the effect of outflow tract on severe stenosis and occlusion after artificially grafting femoropopliteal bypass for patients with chronic ischemia of low extremities. Methods A total of selected 115 cases with peripheral artery occlusive disease(PAOD),who were treated in our hospital from Mar.2007 to Mar.2009,were divided into two groups according to their outflow tracts. One group included patients with only one infrapopliteal outflow tract unobstructed, and another group included patients who had more than one infrapopliteal outflow tracts unobstructed.Primary patency of blood vessel prosthesis was evaluated at 2,6,12 and 24 months after operation, respectively. Results After a follow-up of 24 months, there was significant difference in the primary patency between two groups(45.5% vs 63%,P<0.05).Conclusion Outflow tracts effect long-term primary patency after artificially grafting femoropopliteal bypass, but it have limited effect on short-term primary patency.
