在“Is America in Dedine?”一文中有这样一段文字: Empires crumble abroad. "Far-called our navies melt away; on dune and headland sinks the fire," Kipling wrote as Britain entered its Edwardian twilight. But the rot actually starts at home. Prophets of America’s decline also point out to signs of internal decay.
