摘要
1.引言六十年代末,美国语言学家Charles J. Fillmore相继发表了Toward a Modern Theory of Case(F: 1966)和The Case for Case(F: 1968)。等文章,创立了格语法理论。他指出语言中存在隐性范畴,认为语法现象不是都有显性的形态表现。语言底层存在隐性的格的关系是语言中的普遍现象。“格”是语法基础部分的基本概念,格的关系是基础部分的基本关系。格语法只用格分析平面作工具,把句子的语义表达和句法表达联系起来。
The development of ease grammar has two stages. Before mid-seventies, Fillmore proposed that a case grammar assigns two kinds of representations to sentences: one at a semantic conceptual level and the other at the surface structure level. After 1977, Fillmore added an intermediate level called deep structure, dealing with the assignment of grammatical relations; so a case grammar would give out three kinds of organizations: one at case level, one at grammar level and one at surface structure level, among them the first two relate to the, semantic interpretations. The main issue of this period was the determination of the grammar representations. In Fillmore's view, meanings are relativized to scenes which underlie sentences. Parts of scenes are in perspective and become nuclei of sentences which map onto grammatical representations according to saliency hierarchy. The remainders are out of perspeetive and become peripheries of sentences which go into sentences with prepositions.
