摘要
心理现实主义是传统文学从现实主义走向现代主义过程中出现的一种文学思潮，也是一种创作方法。它的产生无疑是直接受到了现代心理学的影响。与现实主义相比，它虽然仍以塑造人物形象为旨归，但作品表现的对象已从外部事件转移到了人的精神世界；与意识流手法相比，它虽然也是以心理描写、心理分析为主要艺术手段，但这仍然是为塑造人物形象服务，而且它所关注的只是意识层面的而非潜意识的心理活动。亨利·詹姆斯以《贵妇画像》为代表的作品的艺术成就以及由此显示出的艺术探索精神，奠定了他作为心理现实主义奠基人的文学地位。
Abstract Psychological realism is a kind of ideological trend of literature which appears in the tradi-tional literature in the course from realism to modernism.It is also a way of creation. Its emer-gence is doubtlessly influenced by modern psychology.Compared with realism, though its main purpose is to create images of characters, the objects of the works have changed from external events to man's mentalworld.Compared with the method of the stream of consciousness,though its artistic means is still to put stress on psychological description and analysis,it still serves for the creation of images of characters adn pays attention to the psychological activities of non-po-tential consciousness.With 《A Portrait of a Noble Lady》 as his representative work,Henry James's artistic achievements and spirit have affirmed his literary position ad the founder of psy-chological realism.
