In 1964—72 at Beiyao 2. 5 km northeast of the old town of Luoyang, archaeologists had excavated 370 Western Zhou tombs, causing much interest among scholars. The 59 inscribed low-lead bronzes are extremely important data. Twenty-five pieces of insriptions have been published since. The remaining 27 pieces of inscriptions on ritual bronzes and 9 pieces on bronze charriorts, horeses or weapons are published in this article with decipherment.
Most of these bronzes, as revealed by their inscriptions, belong to the royal and aristocratic families. They provide important clues to the history of the dynasty. Some unrecorded forms of bonzes and interesting structure of many characters, in addition to the new light they shed on research of the Western Zhou bronzes, have assisted a lot in identifying this specific royal cemetery.
