There has been a rapid increase in the Arab Chinese trade since the beginning of the 1990s; it is however not balanced, being advantageous to China. Joint efforts by both sides are needed to change this unbalanced state of affairs.The Arab countries have great potentials to export to the Chinese market, and it will help balance the trade between the two sides if China increases its import of strategic materials from the Arab countries. Although China and the Arab countries have signed agreements on encouraging and protecting their joint investments,the scale of the investment is at present still very limited. It is true that the investment market in the Arab countries is smaller than that in China, but it provides the investors with special incentive measures, along with many favourable conditions apart from the necessary legal provisions. The Chinese market has a broad scope of investment, but as far as the Arab investors are concerned, they need incentive measures and detailed information documents. Besides, there are also rooms for enhancement in cooperation in such fields as finance, insurance, labour services and tourism.
