摘要
继承与弘扬中华民族优秀思想文化传统，必须解决传统价值理想在现代人格塑造中如何定位的问题。单一结构的人格模式，如纯粹经济性质的功利型、实用型人格以及纯粹道德性质或政治性质的人格，都与现代化的目标相悖。内在尺度与外在尺度的统一、真善美的统一是现代人的理想人格境界。塑造既符合现代标准又具有个体差异性的健全人格，需要在唯物史观指导下以传统价值理想作为“理性”
In order to carry forward the excellent ideological and cultural tradition of the Chinese nation, we must find out what part traditional values and ideals should play in the shaping of the modern personality. Incompatible with the goal of modernization are such single-structured personality types as the utilitarian and pragmatic personality which is purely economic in nature and the personality which is purely moral or political in nature. The ideal personality for the modern man is one in which the inner and outward standards are unified and one in which the true, the good and the beautiful are unified. The shaping of a perfect personality which both meets modern requirements and bears individual peculiarities should be guided by historical materialism with a reflection on traditional values and ideals as the 'rational' media.
