Abstract Shanxi Province boasts abundant tourism resources.After more than ten years' development and management,tourism industry has become the strategic oriented enterprise in the adjustment of economic structure and one of the most dynamic trader in the tertiary industry in Shanxi.However,after profound analysis,you will find out that Shanxi is beset with low scale of tourism industry,low utilization of resource development and slow speed of forming tourism products and weak strength of tourism enterprise.The managerial system and standard are conspicuously not adaptable,thus forming a striking contrast wih the development of modern tourism economy.The author,around the stategic thinking of developing tourism as a pillar enterprise put forward by the Provincial Party Commuttee and government,raises a series of solutions to the problems.This is probably of certain referential significance to the counterparts nationwide.
