AbstractThe author,through his analysis of
the in depth reasons of some phenomena that have taken place in Hongkong's tourism industry
in the past three years,sounds a warning to the tourism circle of the mainland.Our international
competitive power is inferior to that of Hongkong, We lack corresponding conditions in such
aspects as quality,environment etc.If we fail to study the in depth problems regarding various
related ups and downs of tourism economy, and take corresponding solutions in time,it is likely
to produce even more serious consequence for the mainland's tourism industry and hospitality
industry.In the article,the author offers three enlightenments from the measures that have been
adopted during the rise and fall of Hongkong's tourism and hospitality industry.1.The decline in
economic benefits is entirely different from that in 1989.Concrete problems call for concrete
analysis.2.We cannot damage our image by ourselves.3.We cannot worry about troubles by
ourselves.
