Virginia Woolf's fantasy fiction Orlando(1928)is valued much by later feminists. On the androgynous figure—Orlando,Woolf places her thinking about sexes:everyone has some temperament belonging to the opposite sex.Only when the harmony and understanding between two sexes is achieved, can good works be accomplished. This thesis intends to analyze how Woolf displays her androgynous idea, focusing on three aspects—the symbolic significance of Orlando's sex-changing,her vacillation between sexes, and what's changed and unchanged in Orlando.
