摘要
翻译应以语篇为单位 ,但最终还是要落实到词义的确立。英语中“一词多义”的现象比比皆是 ,“语境不同 ,词义即不同”。在翻译中 ,词义的确立必须以具体的语境为依据 ,原文的上下文是选择词义 。
An article should be treated as a whole in translation,but translation of any article is ultimately done through word meaning decision. 'Polysemy' is typical of English words ,so 'Meaning is context'.In English-Chinese translation,word meaning decision should be based on the concrete context.The context of the original is the key to word meaning choice,to decision of its extension meaning and commendatory and derogatory meaning.
