摘要
文章通过翔实的史料阐述了中国科学文化书籍的翻译历史。作者认为,中国的科普翻译应该分为3个阶段:明末清初西方传教士的西学东渐引发的科学翻译;20世纪最初的20年到新中国成立,由科学家社团通过刊物进行的翻译以及重大的科学事件引发的科学翻译热潮;新中国成立后,尤其是90年代后的科普翻译热潮。文章对各个阶段的科普翻译进行了归纳总结,指出了各个历史时期的特点以及发展趋势,对中国最有影响的翻译作品和作者进行了详细介绍。
This article explores the history of the translation of popular science books in three stages as the author defined, the translations the missionaries did as they tried to introduce science and technology of the West to the governments in Ming and Qing dynasties(16-19centuries), translations developed by Chinese scientists and intellectuals by journals and big events as Einstein’s trip to China and, the new boom of translation of books diversified in scientific culture from 1990’s through to today.
