As a highly developed country, the United States has always been depicted as a Utopia of freedom, tolerance, and rationality. In the early writings in Hong Kong, United States was represented as a country where women enjoy equal rights of education, economy and expression with men. Nevertheless, imagination cannot be too far away from the reality. With further understanding of this country and the awakening to feminist awareness, the United States is represented as a nation where there is a dichotomy of freedom and the vacancy of freedom, the tolerance of civilization, and the savage possession, rational order, and cruel coldness.
