摘要
从19世纪中期开始,西方列强竞相向新疆派遣各种类型的探险队和考察队,进行政治、经济、文化考察,收集情报。这些探险队和考察队都为后人留下了数量可观的考察报告、探险实录,以及对新疆历史、民族、宗教、社会、民风习俗、地理……的札记和图像资料,这些均成为可供后人借鉴、研究、评述的历史资料。同时也为我们从一个侧面了解新疆历史、文化提供了具有研究参考价值的史料。
Since the middle of the 19th century,the western imperialist powers had begun sending all kinds of expeditions and investigation teams to Xinjiang for investigation of the politics,economics,and culture and collection of information.These expeditions and investigation teams had left considerable investigation reports,expedition records,reading notes and pictures reflecting Xinjiang's history,nationalities,religions,society,folk custom,geography,etc.These are all historical data that can be used for reference,researched,and reviewed by later generations.And at the same time,these are historical materials for understanding the history and culture of Xinjiang from one side.
