The details of the design improvement of DF 11 locomotives for the Lan-Xin line which features strong storm, high altitudes, large differences in temperature, long and steep slopes and thus brings about special requirements for locomotives are given, with the brief description of the highland performance test, tractive performance test and application of DF 11 locomotives.
