摘要
个性化原创比喻构成翻译的难点甚至盲点。结合纽马克的翻译思想,通过挖掘比喻修辞的深层特点,即本体、喻体之间的相似性来考察《围城》英译本的得与失,我们看到,译者既要充分调动自身素养,又要关照相关读者的理解水平和想象力,既给他们留下足够的想象空间,又要防止思维空白的产生,以确保比喻的认知功能与美学功能的有效传达。
Original metaphors in Fortress Besieged pose a great challenge to translators.The translator of such creative texts,therefore,needs to stretch his or her imagination and give consideration to its targeted readers so as to transfer both the expressive function and the aesthetic function carried by metaphors.
