《德伯家的苔丝》是英国杰出的现实主义作家托马斯·哈代最优秀的长篇小说,其体现出来的女主人公苔丝的悲剧意识一直是评论界的焦点之一。社会制度、个性差异、命运是女主人公苔丝的悲剧产生根源。
Thomas Hardy is an outstanding British realism writer.Most of his novels are tragic outcome. Tess of the D Urbervilles is his best long novel that embodies the tragic awareness of Tess,the heroine, which has been one of the focuses of controversy.This article discusses the root of tragedy of the heroine created by Hardy in this novel from three aspects.
