摘要
作为一种重要的教育思想,自由教育对世界范围内的教育理论与实践影响十分深远。"自由"、"理性"、"民主"是自由教育的灵魂,它既符合人的本性和教育本质,又反映了人与社会的要求。本文通过对自由教育的历史沿革及其本质内涵的研究与探讨,阐述了当今高等学校实施自由教育的历史必然性。
Liberal education, as a kind of most influential educational thoughts, has been exercising a profound and far-reaching influence over the educational theory and practice of the world. Its components, known as liberation, Reason and Democracy, which are regarded as the spirit of liberal education, literally conform to the nature of humans as well as the essence of education. And to the largest extent they lay much stress on the requirements of humans and society. This paper, through an analysis of the concept evolution and the spirit of liberal education, draws the conclusion that the execution of liberal education in today's institutions of higher learning is a historical inevitability.
