摘要
罗长裿作为传统士子,走出书斋,书生典戎,建功边陲,在他身上充分体现了不图安逸、忧国忧民的经世精神。不事虚文、热衷西学,敢于担当、勇于任事,关心民瘼、安民和众,整军经武、维护国权,构成了罗长裿经世思想的内在意蕴;时代变局的刺激,湖湘文化的陶铸,是这种思想形成的根本原因。
