谭献是晚清骈文大家,其骈文批评理论内容丰富,包括骈散合一,回归汉魏的骈文思想;推崇"于绮丽丰缛之中,能存简质清刚之制"的骈文风格论;重视骈文潜气内转的文气论;梳理骈文发展流变的骈文史论;清代骈文作家论及选本批评等方面。谭献的骈文批评理论具有深远影响。
Tan Xian,a writer of parallel prose in late Qing Dynasty,his Parallel prose criticism theory is abundant.He combined parallel prose with prose and returned to Han Wei style of writing,agreed with the parallel prose style that has "the simple and fresh quality in the shape of beautiful and rich elaboration".Tan Xian pursued " Qianqi Neizhuan" on the view of literary spirit,combed the history of parallel prose,evaluated the prose writers and anthologies of Qing Dynasty.
