摘要
“艺术本身”是西方现代美学的重要概念之一,也是所有形式主义文论最核心的概念。艾布拉姆斯对20世纪后期各种激进理论派别的批判,追根溯源,就是从剖析它们共同认同的“艺术本身”这一个概念开始的。本文试图梳理和辨析艾布拉姆斯对“艺术本身”的观念史阐发,并结合其与当代西方激进理论派别的辩论,揭示艾氏对现代美学的批判。
“Art-as-such”is one of the key concepts in western modern aesthetics and the core one in all literary theories of Formalism as well.Abrams'criticism of various radical theoretical schools in the late 20th century can be traced back to his analysis of the concept of“Art-as-Such”that they all agree on.This paper attempts to tease out and anatomize Abrams'elucidations of the evolutionary history of this concept,and reveals his criticism of modern aesthetics through his debates with contemporary western radical schools of theory.
